Dr Effiong is the President and Chair of the Executive Council of the Pan-African Dialogue Institute (TPADI); Director of the Centre for Deep Dialogue and Critical Thinking, and Associate Professor New Testament Literature, Dialogue and Peacebuilding at the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies, University of Uyo, Nigeria. Dr. Udo is a consultant and associate of the Dialogue Institute at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. He is also an international Dialogue Fellow of KAICIID, Lisbon, Portugal.
